Second Trimester Maternity Must-Haves

This part two of our four week guide in helping Pregnant Girl choose maternity must-haves by trimester.  Last Monday we covered first trimester, but now you are really growing.  So here they are, our top picks for Pregnant Girl’s second trimester…

Our first must-have is Ella Moss. Although her line isn’t maternity, we’ve searched high and low for a handful of styles that will work for your bump from beginning to end of pregnancy. We are loving her tops because they add some much needed color to any maternity wardrobe and as you begin your maternity shopping you will love that you can still wear a favorite brand. We know you often start the second trimester in that awkward in between phase when the belly hasn’t quite popped and Ella Moss’ flowy styles will help you feel fabulous, never frumpy.

Susana Monaco is another line that we carry that isn’t maternity specific. The stretchy material in the fabric allows for you to wear her pieces throughout your entire pregnancy. We love this dress for many different occasions. Whether it’s your baby shower, a wedding or date night, this dress will make you feel like a million bucks.

Every Pregnant Girl needs a good pair of black pants. These Olian Vertigo Black pants would be great to dress up for work or dress down with flats. There is a panel that can be folded over the belly or folded down.

We can’t tell you how important it is to have a good pair of jeans.  It makes all the difference when you’re getting dressed in the morning.  We prefer any jeans with a side panel and these JBrand Starless Jeggings are our current favorites.  They are perfect for flats, boots, heels and even a simple pair of sandals.

We can’t sing enough praises about the Ingrid & Isabel line.  This Ingrid & Isabel Ruched Top is great to wear under cardigans and sweaters.  It is such a flattering top and hugs the belly perfectly. Why not show off your little bump (that has definitely popped by the end of the second trimester) with a fitted top?

There you have it, our second trimester must-haves. Join us next Monday for our third trimester picks.

We focused this trimester on key basic pieces and told you we prefer the under belly denim.  What do you like, over belly or under belly panels?

First Trimester Maternity Must-Haves

We are putting together a four part guide for all your maternity closet must-haves. Becoming a first time mom can be pretty overwhelming, so we’ve put together a list of some key pieces that will help you look and feel great throughout each trimester of your pregnancy.

First off, we highly recommend that your first maternity purchase be the Bella Band. Ditch the rubber band trick as that can get pretty uncomfortable throughout the day and invest in a Bella Band. When your pants are getting a bit too tight, slip the Bella Band over the unbuttoned and/or unzipped waistband. VOILA! This will allow you to wear your normal pants for a little longer prior to transitioning into the world of maternity bottoms.

*Offered in white, black, and lace

Our second suggestion would have to be a good stretch mark prevention cream by Bella B.  Some people say that stretch marks are luck of the draw, but honestly, I’d rather be safe than sorry.  A good prevention cream is the Tummy Honey Butter, but if you already have stretch marks we suggest the Tummy Honey Cream for stretch mark fading. Don’t forget to grab the Silk & Honey to moisturize the rest of your body.

Our third suggestion is a cute thong by Hanky Panky that says “MOM TO BE”. This would be a great way to tell hubby that you are expecting.  If you’ve never worn a pair of Hanky Panky panties before, we highly suggest you try a pair. They are comfortable, cute, and don’t ride up like other thongs.

Our fourth suggestion is a good bra. Not only will your tummy be growing, but so will your breasts. We cannot express how important it is to invest in a good bra. We’re loving the BelaBumBum Serena Soft Cup Bras because of the flexibility offered in the sizing. They will transition into nursing bras and the lace adds a nice feminine touch.

*Offered in black and nude

Last, but certainly not least we have the Ingrid & Isabel camis. These camis are the perfect layering piece to wear throughout your pregnancy. They are great for the first trimester when your non-maternity tops are getting a bit too short.  As your belly grows, they will stretch over your bump without riding up. As we said, they are the perfect piece for everyday wear under your shirts and we are guessing you won’t want to give them up post pregnancy.
